Kinchafoonee Creek

Kinchafoonee Creek (pronounced kinch-uh-FOO-nee) is a creek in southwest Georgia. It originates near Buena Vista and flows southeasterly for 91.8 miles (147.7 km)[1] to the Flint River near Albany, Georgia.

"Kinchafoonee" was a Creek Indian word that apparently referred to a mortar or bone device for cracking nuts.

The creek flows through Chattahoochee, Marion, Dougherty, Lee and Webster (formerly Kinchafoonee) counties.
